NGN network is based on the standard 4-layer NGN architecture namely edge access, core switching, network control and service management.

Soft Switch takes care of all call control for both fixed and mobile network and resides at the control layer of NGN. Soft Switch has high availability, high reliability, high real-time, high scalability, high load balance and high compliance to the open system.

Media Gateway supports both TDM and packet switching functions with multiple access interfaces. It deals with service traffic processing and conversion between IP and TDM networks, which implements efficiently the inter-working between different networks.

Signaling gateway is available to fulfill the inter-working between PSTN network and NGN so as to cooperate with the soft Switch and other IP-based database equipment (e.g. IP-HLR, IP-SCP and IP-SMSC).

Under the control of Soft Switch, Multimedia resources server provides medium resource to packet network. Unlike the traditional packet peripherals (IP) based on circuit technology, MRS is directly based on packet technology and eliminates the coding/decoding conversion of from TDM to IP, resulting in high quality medium flow on IP.
